Alright people who use sand think about it like this when u are at the beach and sand gets wet it clumps together and becomes 1 pack in sted of lose sand so wen any reptile eats some sand thats wats happening in there somackes now tbh the best thing is paper tissue bark/ aspen or eco earth its not what they have in the wild but in the wild they inly live 10-15yrs in captivity on the right diet subtrate etc they can live to 30+

he may be doing fine for now, but calci-sand is proven to be fatal if he swallows to much. the best substrate is playsand or (in some people opinions) millet.

FALSE!!! Uros are allowed to soak if indeed having difficulties shedding. Some even say it’s alright to soak them every month. They should be soaked in water that’s nearly hot to the touch for fifteen minutes. The only problem is the fact that moister can cause tail rot, if not fully dried, this is why it’s important to dry clean your uro and put them in the tank to dry. Once they are dry, their shedded skin will easily come off.
